A Sporty Adventure

Being at Star College, one would think that it’s all work and no play. However, this year we have embarked on an exciting, new sporty journey. Mrs. Reddy, along with some of the other teachers and students, have made the effort to find time in our busy schedule for various sporting activities.

Weekly teamsports such as table tennis, board games, cricket and netball has helped us build both self-confidence as well as new friendships, it has also helped us get ourselves out of the classroom to revitalise our senses helping us stay attentive in class. Classes of the same grade are pitted against each other every week in different sports.

Apart from these inter-class sports we also had an inter-house tournament in the first two terms of the year. The Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green houses were locked in battle to the very end (our inter-house sports day) to dominate the score board. These mixed teams provided us with the opportunity to meet girls from other classes and grades as well as tonnes of fun.

In addition to all these exciting events, we also had a Family Fun Day. The day started off with a fun walk and came back to enjoy mini fun fair filled with jumping castles, a tea garden, magic bicycles, food from different cultures, Adventure Golf, Mother’s Day love and much more.

As the girls of the Star College, we have thoroughly enjoyed our sports programme and would like to extent a heartfelt thank you Mrs Reddy, all the other teachers involved as well as all the girls whos effort and participation has made these sports all the more enjoyable. So, here’s to the eagerly awaited new sporting year.
